This is what i used to boil water this morning for 3-in-1 instant cereal drink... can faint ok...... looks even darker than charcoal.... never seen anything like this......
Yi Tyeng taught me this method (last year)... to all future housewives out there, SqUeZzeeeEEE one whole lemon into the black thing...... ONE WHOLE lemon, no discount.... then add warm water till the brim of the electrical kettle.... leave it at the kitchen table for about an hour....
After one hour, pour out the water.. u might see some sky-blue-ish colour of solution at the end of pouring water... i guess it's some "chemical stuff"... so but WOW...!!!

right after that, give it a good wash with dish detergent....
rub rub a bit, don't be lazy....
See...!! All clean and clear...!!!! Can even see the metal heater at the bottom there alright...!!!!
look new...!!!
Now i can drink hot water with peace of MIND....................Don't have to worry that there'll be water poisoning from metal traces or dirt traces.. ahahahahaha...

use activated carbon filter to absorb odorous or coloured substances before boilin ur drinkin water :)
